Welcome to the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake Land Withdrawal EIS/LEIS website. This website has been created to share information with you as well as give you an opportunity to participate in the NEPA process and express your concerns by submitting comments. Although The public comment period is closed, comments that have been submitted will be considered when preparing the Final EIS/LEIS.
You will notice links on the top of this webpage. The links have drop down menus and can take you to areas on this website where you can read about the project and learn about the National Environmental Policy Act.
The proposed action includes:
- Renew (by act of Congress) the 1994 withdrawal of lands at NAWS China Lake to accommodate continued Navy use for research, development, acquisition, test, and evaluation (RDAT&E) and operational training activities for an additional 25 years.
- Revise and implement the Comprehensive Land Use Management Plan (CLUMP).
- Maintain Navy readiness by accommodating an up to 25 percent increase in RDAT&E and training activities.
