Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake encompasses approximately 1.1 million acres and is located in the northeast of California’s Mojave Desert. NAWS China Lake lies across portions of several counties. This includes northwest San Bernardino County, southwest Inyo County, as well as northeastern Kern County, adjacent to the city of Ridgecrest, California. NAWS China Lake is about 150 miles north of Los Angeles.
NAWS China Lake is situated on land with a very unique and diverse desert terrain perfectly suited for military training and testing that cannot be accomplished elsewhere.
